Trip Itinerary

Day 1
Stay: Bocawina Rainforest Resort
Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Your adventure starts with a pick up in the coastal town of Dangriga, and a short 30 minute drive into the southern Maya Mountains. Situated in the middle of Mayflower Bocawina National Park, Bocawina Rainforest Resort is the perfect location to experience the broadleaf tropical rainforest and the amazing flora and fauna.

You'll start your trip by settling in and learning about the property and the experiences that lie ahead in the surrounding mountains and rainforest. You may want to sign up for the optional afternoon activities or a nocturnal hike.

Days 2-3
Stay: Bocawina Rainforest Resort
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Rise with the first light of day and experience the sounds of the jungle. Finding a quiet spot to sip a coffee is a sure way to soak in the morning and watch the resident Toucans.

After a hearty breakfast, the choice is yours. You can make a stop to the adventure center and get outfitted with a harness for an exhilarating adventure to rappel Antelope Falls or you can enjoy Belize's longest zip-line as you soar across 9 different runs, the longest being over 2300 feet!

You also have the option of exploring deeper into the Mayflower Bocawina National Park. The parks captivating network of trails offer something for everyone. The park features the family-friendly Bocawina Falls Trail or the Bird Loop, ideal for a leisurely hike. Adventure seekers can test their limits on the strenuous Big Drop Falls Trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall.

For the thrill seekers who experienced zip-lining during the day - we suggest the AfterDark zip-line adventure. It's exhilarating and a bit spooky but immensely enjoyable. Please book this adventure at least 24 hours in advance; a small fee applies as this is not an adventure on the regular schedule.

Note: Antelope Falls is a 2 pitch, 250 foot drop. A minimum of 100lb per participant. An alternative for families with children and those looking for a less strenuous experience, we recommend Bocawina Falls hike and rappel.

Day 4
Stay: UMaya Resort
Meals: Breakfast at Bocawina; Meals on Own in Placencia

Your last morning at Bocawina is completely flexible. You can stay close to the lodge or follow a trail to a favorite pool or waterfall. We can arrange your transfer to Placencia for after breakfast, or can drop you off later in the day if you want more rainforest time!

Upon arrival at your beach hotel, you may want to settle into your room before enjoying a refreshing drink by the beach bar. Later, why not take an exploratory walk along the uncrowded palm-lined beaches of the Peninsula?

The Peninsula is only a mile at its widest and is positioned between the Placencia Lagoon on the west, and the Caribbean Sea on the east. It is possible to stroll north seven miles from Placencia Village to Seine Bight Village without interruption.

We have left your time at Placencia totally open. Lounge poolside, hop on a bicycle or sign up for an optional excursion at the hotel activity desk. Meals can be enjoyed at your resort hotel, or you can sample some local cuisine in the nearby villages of Placencia and Seine Bight.

Days 5, 6

Spend the next two days discovering the Placencia Peninsula. Relax in a hammock with a good book, go beachcombing…or consider saltwater fly fishing or a sunset cruise.
