Trip Itinerary

Day 1
Stay: Glover's Reef Basecamp on Southwest Caye
Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Arrive early in Dangriga for a 10:30AM boat departure. We travel 36 miles by boat to our private basecamp on Southwest Caye. Expect the ride to take 1-2 hours. Upon arrival, we give you an island orientation and allow you to settle into your accommodations. After lunch, our guides will show you the fundamentals of sea kayaking, snorkeling, and marine water safety in preparation for either a paddle or snorkel to a nearby patch reef. One of over 700 coral sites Glover’s Reef Atoll has to offer.

Days 2-4
Stay: Glover's Reef Basecamp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Start your day with an early swim or grab a mat and practice sunrise yoga by the water. We keep our itinerary flexible to respond to the interests and abilities of the group and the weather conditions. Most days will have 2 guided activities. Some options include paddling, snorkeling, sailing, hand-line fishing, spearfishing, and SUP. In between guided activities, we host information sessions on the history of Belize, its unique marine ecosystem and the local culture.

All guided sessions are optional and laying in a hammock is considered an “official” activity.

Evenings at our basecamps are filled with happy hour gatherings, delicious dinners, beach games, star gazing, cold beverages, cultural presentations, and incredible Caribbean sunsets.

Day 5
Stay: N/A
Meals: Breakfast

Many guests choose to wake up early on this final morning and have a leisurely coffee on the dock. You may want to watch the sun rise over the atoll while enjoying one last paddle before enjoying a final breakfast. The boat charter departs in the morning to take you back to the mainland, usually arriving before noon. Your trip finishes in Dangriga at the town dock. Our helpful staff will assist you with connecting to the next leg of your journey.

Travel Notes: We suggest arriving in Dangriga the day before this trip and confirming morning boat logistics with our staff. Travellers leaving Belize after this trip (day 5) require a short domestic flight from Dangriga to Belize International Airport (BZE). International flights must depart after 3:00 p.m.
