Review
We came back! Second time with IE! This trip was dampened by lots of rain, but the guides made sure that we still each had a great time. You cannot blame IE for the weather. Weather caused enough disruption that we substituted a trip to the Mayan Ruins for the float down the river of caves. Safety first - the river was too high. Fighting the weather, the guides were always adapting and providing great substitutes. We got some very personal cultural education from our guides about growing up in Belize where they all have mixed blood and fantastic cultural history. We even got a lesson in the Mayan counting and arithmetic system. Rain didn't stop snorkeling, kayaking and fishing! All the accommodations were great, evn though we all wanted a hot shower after the week!

What were the highlights of the trip?
The unscheduled Mayan ruins tour was great. The guides made it real and personal.
What would be your advice to potential travelers?
Bring a good attitude, just in case it rains. Don't pack very heavy. Keens are best footwear.
