On Arrival in Belize
The Belize International Airport (BZE) is easy to navigate. After immigration, you collect your bags and move through the customs area. The whole process can take up to an hour. Porters are standing in clear view, but it is a very short distance to where we meet you. Please be aware porters are not employed by the Airport Authority, they can be pushy and they will charge $2 to $4 for each bag - you are not obligated to use their services.
Rendezvous
Your Rainforest & Reef Explorer begins and ends in the town of Dangriga. If you need assistance planning your transport to and from Dangriga, please contact our office and one of our Trip Planners will be happy to help you make those arrangements. We can arrange a pick-up for you at the Dangriga airstrip, bus station, or one of the resorts in town. Please be sure to let us know your pick-up location and time. If you are arranging your own transport to Bocawina or renting a car you are welcome to begin the trip at Bocawina Rainforest Resort. If that is your plan, do inform us on how and when you’ll be arriving. For directions to the resort, ask one of our Trip Planners.
Departure from Belize
You will return from Tobacco Caye to Dangriga by motor boat after breakfast and you time with us ends here. Depending on your plans from Dangriga, we are happy to help you arrange for a taxi to meet you at the boat, domestic flights, or any other transport you may be looking for but this is not included in your trip costs. If you need assistance planning your departure from Dangriga, please speak to our Trip Planners and they will be happy to help you make those arrangements in advance. Once you are on the island, our Tobacco Caye hosts can also arrange a cab to meet you at the dock in Dangriga at the end of your trip. Please have cash on hand to pay the taxi directly.
