Essential Information that you need to review prior to your departure

Essential Information that you need to review prior to your departure

Passports

  • A current passport with 6 months of validity is required to enter Belize.
  • We suggest you also carry a paper or digital copy (photos on your phone) of your passport.

Please click here for more information on passport, visa, and entry paper requirements for Belize.

Travel Consent for Minors

  • Children traveling with one parent require a notarized letter of authority from the other parent indicating travel consent. Also, if you are travelling with children as part of a custom group you will require full documentation as well as a notarized Consent Letter (Canadians) or Minor Travel Consent Form (Americans) from the parent(S) or guardian approving out-of-country travel.

Canadian Travel Consent Letter

US Minor Travel Consent Form

  • Children travelling with a parent with a different last name, at times have been asked for a copy of birth certificate to authenticate parentage. Please make digital copies (on your phone) of children's birth certificate, if this is the case.

Entry into Belize - Digital Immigration Declaration

  • You are now able to fill out your entry and exit forms digitally

Travelers are encouraged to visit the web portal at Belize Digital Forms to complete their forms in advance of travel. This is the sane document that you normally fill our on the plane, upon arrival into Belize.

Travel, Medical & Evacuation Insurance

  • We require you to obtain a short-term traveler's insurance policy in case of accident or illness for the duration of your travel period.
  • This policy should cover all emergency medical and evacuation expenses while in Belize, and for the duration of your international travel.
  • Check your credit card provider for travel insurance benefits.
  • We highly recommend a trip cancellation and trip interruption policy as well.
  • Insurance should be purchased within 72 hours of your trip registration date. Check with your specific provider.

If you do not have a travel insurance provider here is a recommendation, Travel Medical Evacuation Insurance
