Tobacco Caye Paradise
| Tobacco Caye Paradise Lodge is part of the Belize Adventure Group. Island Expeditions began working closely with this lodge in 2008 and Tobacco Caye Paradise became an integral part of the Paradise Islands, Coral Islands SUP and Ultimate Adventure Classic Trips. This off-the-grid lodge has always been a favorite location for our guests and now (in addition to these Classic Trips), we offer accommodations and packages year-round. |
Home to just 30 year-round residents, this palm-fringed, five acre island is part of the Southwater Caye Marine Reserve – a 117,878 acre marine wonderland for snorkelers and paddlers. This idyllic setting is the perfect place to relax, unplug and explore the Belize Barrier Reef.
This small lodge offers six private “over the water” beach cabanas. Each cabana has its own private deck with a hammock perched over the turquoise tropical waters, overlooking the central Belize barrier reef. All cabanas have private bathrooms and rainwater showers. There are five 1-bedroom cabanas, and one 2-bedroom "family" cabana. Amenities include 24-hour front desk manager assistance, daily housekeeping (or by request) and Wi-Fi is available on the property for a daily fee.
Delicious Belizean-style meals are available in the dining hall, where you can dine with fellow travelers and share the day’s adventures.
Activities and Adventures
Sea kayak, snorkel sets and SUPs rentals are available for guests. Tobacco Caye offers world-class walk-in snorkeling from the beach. Fishing, scuba diving & other guided activities can be arranged with local vendors for an additional fee.
Location and Getting There
Tobacco Caye is located thirty minutes off the shore of Dangriga in central Belize. Water taxi service is available riverside from the main bridge foot in Dangriga.
Water Taxi drivers congregate at the Riverside Cafe, at the main bridge, in the center of town. Boats leave from this area from 10am through 1pm daily. Boat captains try and get 4-6 passengers before they depart to Tobacco Caye, so there may be a short wait before the boat leaves. A water taxi service is also available from Hopkins, please contact us for more information.
There is scheduled flight service to Dangriga from Belize International Airport, Belize City’s domestic terminal and other parts of Belize. There is also regular, reliable local bus service throughout the country.
