Rendezvous with your driver in Dangriga, Belize City or the Belize International Airport and travel through the scenic Cayo District to Crystal Paradise Resort on 21 acres overlooking the Macal River.

Our route to Caracol takes us through tropical pine forests before descending into lush rainforest. Caracol dates back to the classic period and is Belize’s largest and most spectacular Mayan city. There are over 35,000 structures, 5 plazas, 4 palaces, 3 temples, 24 stelae, 2 ball courts, reservoirs, causeways and an astronomical observatory. We also visit to the Rio Frio Caves and enjoy a swim in the crystal clear Rio On Pools.

Today’s extraordinary journey takes us deep underground into the Mayan underworld known as Xilbalba, a mythical realm inhabited by ancient spirits where secretive rituals took place. We hike, wade, swim and climb our way into the sacrificial chambers to witness first-hand artifacts, deep in the Actun Tunichil Muknal caves system.

Birdlife and wildlife abound at our lodge and early mornings are the most active. Wake to a coffee, grab your binoculars and spend a quiet hour watching wildlife. Your transfer time this morning will be set based on your next tour rendezvous or your international flight time.
