Trips For Every Traveler

Island Expeditions offers a variety of Belize trips to suite every adventure traveler

A Belize Adventure for
Every Traveler

Choosing your trip starts with deciding what kind of experience you’re looking for. Our classic all-inclusive adventures often combine multiple destinations and sports, while some shorter getaways might focus entirely on snorkeling. Inland extensions offer a variety of options from Maya ruins to Belize’s incredible caves and our basecamps on Belize’s outer atolls offer a slower, tropical island escape. No matter the format, we tailor each trip to who’s traveling, from solo adventurers to families, custom groups, and honeymooners — Island Expeditions has you covered.

Make more of your time in Belize with thoughtfully planned adventures that let you explore further and stay longer.

Our Classic All-Inclusive Trips bring together accommodations, meals, transfers and activities outlined in your itinerary for a longer, thoughtfully planned Belize adventure. Spend a full week exploring Lighthouse Reef from our Half Moon Caye basecamp, combine rainforest adventures with island life on Glover’s Reef & Maya Mountains, or pair Lighthouse Reef’s snorkelling with Caracol and ATM Cave on Epic Belize. Other journeys explore both offshore atolls or combine kayaking and paddleboarding with stays at Glover’s Reef and Tobacco Caye. Depending on your trip, you’ll sleep in comfortable island tent-cabanas, rainforest lodges or overwater cabanas.

Escape to Belize’s remote islands with shorter adventures that fit seamlessly into your own Belize travel plans.

Our Short Trips & Getaways offer three- and four-night stays at our remote island basecamps—ideal for a shorter escape or adding a reef adventure to your own Belize travel plans. Meet us in Dangriga for Glover’s Reef or Belize City for Lighthouse Reef, then travel by boat to your island home, where meals, comfortable tent-cabanas, equipment and scheduled guided activities are included. Glover’s offers a varied mix of snorkelling, kayaking, kayak sailing and paddleboarding, while the three-night Lighthouse Getaway focuses on snorkelling, including an excursion to the Great Blue Hole. You’ll return to the same basecamp each evening, with time between adventures to relax and enjoy island life.

Shorter inland escapes you can easily combine with one of our reef trips or your own Belize travel plans.

Our Inland Excursions take you into Belize’s rainforests, rivers, caves and Maya heritage, with most adventures spanning two or three nights and fitting easily before or after a reef trip. Choose your experience by interest: ziplining and waterfall adventures at Bocawina; forest walks, birding and cultural visits around Cockscomb Basin; or wetland wildlife and ancient temples at Crooked Tree and Lamanai. In western Belize, explore Xunantunich and canoe through Barton Creek Cave, or spend longer discovering Caracol, the Rio On Pools and ATM Cave. Most excursions use comfortable lodges as a base, with guided outings and arranged transfers, while the Maya Moho River Expedition offers a more remote rainforest camping adventure.

For experienced paddlers looking to get out on their own.

Our Kayak Rental & Outfitting options give experienced paddlers the freedom to explore Belize’s southern barrier reef on a self-guided adventure. Rent an expedition-ready single or double sea kayak with essential paddling equipment, then take responsibility for your route, daily pace, provisions and overnight arrangements. Rentals are available through our Dangriga operations base or Tobacco Caye, making this a good fit for confident, independent travellers who enjoy planning their own island journey. For a combination of guided comfort and independent exploration, our Glover’s Getaway & Kayak Rental Combo begins with three catered nights at Glover’s Reef Basecamp before transferring you to Tobacco Caye to start the self-guided portion of your adventure.

Family-friendly options within our wider trip collection.

Our Family Trips help you choose a Belize adventure that suits your children’s ages, abilities and curiosity, with shared experiences, hands-on learning and room for downtime. Island basecamp getaways are a popular introduction for younger adventurers, offering a settled home base for snorkelling, paddling and discovering marine life with our Belizean guides. Families wanting more variety can combine the reef with jungle activities on Glover’s Reef & Maya Mountains, while older children may enjoy the caves and ancient temples of Epic Belize or a longer island adventure. Kid-friendly meals, patient instruction and flexible activity choices help everyone find their rhythm.

Highly customized itineraries developed specifically for your group.

Our School & Custom Group adventures begin with your people and your purpose, creating an itinerary around shared interests or specific learning goals. For schools, Belize becomes an outdoor classroom: students can explore marine ecosystems from our island basecamps, connect with local NGOs, fishermen and scientists, and discover the country’s culture, history and biology through inland experiences. For friends, extended families and other organized groups, we bring together destinations and activities that suit the experience you want to share. Accommodation options include remote reef basecamps, small lodges, and educational centers— all supported by experienced guides and our in-country operations team.
