Step-by-step guide to prepare for – Paradise Islands

This step-by-step guide contains important information for your trip. Please follow the steps and review the information prior to your departure.

Step 1: Consider Pre/Post Trip Plans

Step 2: Purchase Insurance

  • All trip participants are required to have Travel Medical & Evacuation insurance
  • We strongly recommend trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Please review our cancellation policy
  • If you do not have a travel insurance provider, you can review options here
  • Some insurance packages include Medical, Evacuation, and Cancellation bundled together

Step 3: Review Trip Preparation Guide

  • Download the Island Expeditions Trip Preparation Guide
  • Find information on mobile/WiFi coverage, trip gratuities, arriving and departing Belize, packing tips, weather, reef-safe toiletries, medical guidelines,  and much more
  • This is a comprehensive guide that covers everything you need to know for your trip

Step 4: Complete Travel Information & Waiver

  • Each trip participant must submit traveller and medical information and fill out the Release of Liabilty & Waiver
  • Forms must be filled out at least 30 days prior to departure

Step 5: Review & Print Contact Information

  • We recommend downloading and printing the Emergency Contact Form. Bring a copy with you and leave a copy at home in case of an emergency. This form is for your own reference and should not be submitted to our office.
  • Review or print important Island Expeditions contact information for both the Canada & Belize office as well as other important contacts in Belize
  • Review or print the Map of Dangriga to see important locations such as partner hotels, Bank/ATM, grocery stores, and Island Expeditions Operations Base and main departures dock.

Step 6: Review Trip Specific Information

  • Review or print the Paradise Islands Itinerary
  • Arrival & Departure Information can be found in the trip itinerary
  • Packing Information can be found on pages 15-19 in the Trip Preparation Guide
