Arrival & Departure Information
I am beginning my Island Expeditions adventure with the Maya World Extension:
-After passing through customs, you will exit the airport building. An Island Expeditions representative from Bird’s Eye View Lodge will be here to meet you on Day 1 at the time confirmed with our Canadian Office. As guests are arriving on different flights please be patient as we connect with all the travellers on your transfer. The drive time to the lodge is approximately 1hr. If you do not see our driver within twenty minutes, please contact our Dangriga office at 522-3328 or 522-0078 to let us know your status.
I am beginning my Island Expeditions adventure with the Cayo, Caves & Temples Extension:
-After passing through Customs, you will exit the Airport building. An Island Expeditions’ representative will be here to meet you on Day 1 at the time confirmed with our Canadian office. This extension begins with a pick-up in Dangriga or transfer from elsewhere in Belize as arranged by our office at the time of the booking. Let us know where in Dangriga you’d like to be picked up and we’ll do the rest. If you are joining the Rainforest Canopy Extension from independent travel, please contact our Dangriga office at 522-3328 the day before you are scheduled to meet up with us.

This extension begins with a pick-up in Dangriga or transfer from elsewhere in Belize as arranged by our office at the time of the booking. Let us know where in Dangriga you’d like to be picked up and we’ll do the rest. I have added an extension to the end of my main Island Expeditions Adventure
Leave it to us. Our guest service staff are aware of your itinerary and will have the arrangements in place to connect you with your Extension.
Communicating Once You've Arrived in Belize
Once you have arrived in the country, all communication transfers to our local team in Belize. If you need anything at all you can call our Dangriga office during regular business hours.

Landing In Belize

NOTE: The Belize International Airport (BZE) is easy to navigate. Expect the arrival process to take about an hour. Please be advised that the porters in the arrivals area are not employed by the Airport Authority. They charge for their services and can be pushy—you are not obligated to use their services!
Airport Sequence: Land in Belize > Go Through Immigration > Claim Your Luggage > Clear Customs > Option #1: Follow your own pre-arranged travel plans leading up to the start of your extension. Option #2: Meet with Island Expedition representative (if starting your extension immediately upon arrival).
