Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the south of Belize. This is an area of rich indigenous culture and stunning scenery. We have lunch in the village of Santa Teresa, and learn how the modern Maya people live in this area of the country. Next, we head westward towards the Guatemala boarder to the river starting point where we gather our gear, and pump up our boats. Your guides will teach the skills you need to confidently paddle your inflatable kayak in moving water before starting our journey down Belize's most beautiful rainforest river. We reach the first camp before dark, and set up for a spectacular night at the river's edge.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Wake to a tropical rainforest setting in the Moho River valley that feels straight out of a storybook. After packing up camp, we follow the Moho River through canyons and lush rainforest. Each bend reveals the dynamic nature of the river with calm meandering sections and stretches of exciting rapids and chutes. Stop for lunch at a scenic waterfall before continuing on to your second nights camping site. Our evenings along the river include storytelling, hand cooked meals over the fire, and optional exploring.
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
In the morning, as we descend out of the Maya Mountains the river widens and begins to meander into the coastal plains. We paddle through forests of fig trees laden with Iguana, as we slowly reach farm lands of the local Maya People. Upon reaching the main bridge of the Moho River, our vehicle awaits and we shuttle to the village of Jordan for our final meal with the indigenous people of Belize. After lunch, we return northward on the Southern Highway, reaching Dangriga by 3pm to connect with a flight or alternative arrangements.
Travel Notes: For travellers leaving Belize after this trip, International connections out of the country require a departure the next day.
