Our classic all-inclusive adventures often combine multiple destinations and sports, while some shorter getaways might focus entirely on snorkeling. Inland extensions offer a variety of options from Maya ruins to Belize’s incredible caves and our basecamps on Belize’s outer atolls offer a slower, tropical island escape. Classic All-Inclusive Trips
Island Expeditions' basecamps offer a comfortable "glamping" experience on beautiful tropical islands surrounded by pristine coral reefs. Sleep right next to the Caribbean sea in safari-style tent cabanas with ample headroom and comfortable beds. Unwind and connect with other like-minded guests at our oceanfront dining pavilion, where fully catered meals, a self-serve bar, and easy conversation await after each day's adventures. These trips also spend time at various other locations from lodges in the rainforest to other tropical islands and cover a range of activities from zip-lining or waterfall rapeling to kayak sailing and snorkeling.
Short Trips &
Getaways
Short trips & getaways are designed to give you a taste of Belize's incredible outer atolls while allowing you to fit the trip in around the rest of your Belize itinerary. Many of our guests mix and match a getaway in with other Island Expeditions trips to create the perfect custom itinerary. Short trips & getaways are perfect for families with young children — and we often see these same families return a few years later for extended stays. For these trips, we meet you the morning of your adventure and take care of all the details from that point on.
Inland
Excursions
Inland Excursions are shorter trips for travelers looking to experience the rich culture and history of Belize that can't be found on the cayes. Journey inland into Belize’s rainforests, where winding rivers, hidden waterfalls, wildlife-rich reserves and ancient Maya sites reveal a completely different side of the country. Belize's mainland offers an incredible diversity of flora and fauna including 600 species of both resident and migratory birds, jaguars, monkeys and Belize's national animal, the Bairds Tapir. Choose from guided river journeys, jungle lodges, cave adventures and cultural excursions designed to take you well beyond the coast.
Kayak Rentals & Outfitting
For more experienced paddlers, we have two incredible options. Begin your trip at our Glover's Reef Basecamp where you'll learn from the local guides, brush up on your skills and prepare for your own self-guided adventure along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. This trip gives you 3 nights of guided activities followed by 4 days of self-guided. You can also skip the portion at Glover's Reef and do your very own self-guided adventure start to finish. Previous kayaking experience is required for all kayak rentals and outfitting.
Family Vacations
With an abundance of activities, learning opportunities, and the freedom to explore — Island Expeditions trips cater well to families of all shapes and sizes. For younger children with little experience on the water, we recommend 3 and 4 night getaways, or the Glover's Reef & Maya Mountains adventure. For teenagers the options are only limited by individual experience and comfort. Families with teenagers book a variety of trips, usually focusing on multi-sport, multi-destination adventures.
