Before or after one of our trips, I suggest considering these options as day trip options for extra days in Belize:
From Belize City, there are a number of day trip options available to the adventure traveller. One, well worth considering is a trip into the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Bermudian Landing. On this Day Trip, a short hour drive from most hotels in Belize City, the small museum is worth the visit. After you tour the museum, one of the local villagers takes you on a short walk into the forest, where they will track down some of the many "Baboons", which is the creole term for the Black Howler Monkey. This is truly a worthwhile trip, and is a great example of what tourism can be in a small community.
Another great day-trip option from Belize City are the Mayan Ruins at Altun Ha. This Mayan site is one of most visited of the Mayan Ruins in Belize, but well worth the visit. With one central courtyard, and a number of structures surrounding a massive plaza, it truly is one of the great day trips from Belize City.
A new addition to the tours and day trips from Belize City is the zip line trek and canopy tours. This can also be a great half-day trip option, especially when combined with a visit to the Belize Zoo, or to the Old Belize Museum.
Gran's farm is also a worthwhile experience, where you can tour their lagoons and a stretch of river. They also have some great locally made desert wines.
Cave tubing has also become one of the more popular tours and day trip excursions from Belize City. This is done from Jaguar Paw, along the Western Highway.
Whether you are looking for a day trip from Belize City, or a multi-day tour of the remote corners of Belize, contact us for details on booking any of these options.
