BECKONING BELIZE
Sea Kayaking, Snorkeling, and the Mayan underworld

BELIZE CITY, BELIZE -- Between December 1st and April 26th, adventure
enthusiasts have the opportunity to sea kayak along one of the richest tropical marine environments in the Caribbean, and explore the mythical limestone caverns of the Mayan underworld.

The journey starts with a full day in the rainforest exploring Mayan pottery caves, horseback riding or hiking, and floating down a jungle river. Then travel to the furthest edge of the Belize reef system exploring Belize’s most spectacular atoll, Glover’s Reef. Over 225 cays dot the Mayan coastline of Belize and the vibrant marine ecosystem provides the opportunity to view dolphins, sea turtles and manatees.

Participants of this trip will lodge in tent-walled cabanas on a private island of over 13 acres, perched on the southern edge of the atoll. Here, there is easy access to snorkeling, fishing, windsurfing, and scuba diving. Exclusive to Glover’s is their underwater Sea-Breathe System, which enables non-divers to explore to depths of 25 feet with an air supply.

Other excursions to Belize include: Coral Jaguar Expedition, Lighthouse Reef Adventure, Coral Islands, Ultimate Adventure, Cockscomb Whitewater Expedition, and Maya World Extension.

Belize is located in Central America, between Mexico and Guatemala on the Caribbean Coast. It covers an area of almost 9,000 square miles (14,400 km), including 266 square miles (425 km) of islands. Belize has a population of only 280,000, and the official language is English.

With over 17 years of specializing in adventure travel, Island Expeditions Co. is a respected and experienced adventure travel company. No prior experience is necessary to participate. Full instruction is provided by professional N. American and Belizean guides. The 7-day tours depart weekly between Dec. 1 and April 26. The cost of the trip is $1588 USD per person (call 1-800-667-1630 for Canadian $ pricing). Flights are limited, so advance booking is highly recommended. Visit the website at:
