RENTING
A KAYAK IN BELIZE
Belize
is a well-known, world-class sea kayaking and snorkelling
destination and the only English-speaking and democratic nation
in Central America.
With a diverse range of bio-geographic regions, including
the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, hundreds
of tiny cayes (as the Belizeans call their islands, pronounced
'keys'), three of the four coral atolls found in the Caribbean,
and miles of unexplored white sand beaches, Belize has unlimited
possibilities for an extraordinary tropical adventure.
In
Belize, sea kayaking is more than just a paddling journey;
the silent mobile kayaks are the perfect transportation for
those looking to snorkel the thousands of coral patch reefs
that lie hidden like jewels along the Belizean coastline.
The ability to comfortably and safely explore above and below
the water is what makes paddling in the tropics such a remarkable
and memorable adventure.
For
advanced paddlers who are interested in outfitting their own
unguided adventure, expedition-ready sea kayaks are available
for rent from Island Expeditions Co. during Belize’s
dry season (December to April).
The
basic rates are: $35 a day for a single $55 a day for a double
