Cave Tubing in Belize
Float a river through the jungle and underground into caves where the spirits of the ancient Maya echo through time
Unique to Belize, the Caves Branch River is a subterranean creek which weaves in and out of the surface of the earth. Each bend exposes impressive caverns, mica-studded stalactites and stalagmites, and remnants of the ancient Maya who used to explore these caves over a thousand years ago.
The most popular way to explore this unique river system is by inner tube, as it allows us to float slowly through this fascinating network of caves. Donned with our swimsuits, good footwear and headlamps, we ford across the Caves Branch River, and hike upstream to the third cave, accessed in approximately 30 minutes, returning back to the starting point in approximately two hours.
