Big Falls 3 Night Extension
The 3-night extension includes a day for relaxing and a day to get a taste of Toledo. The day tour includes a visit to the home of Florencio Mes a Mayan harpist and instrument maker who will play for guests and demonstrate his techniques for hewing a harp or violin from a solid piece of tropical hardwood. Mr Mes will also show guest around his kitchen garden where they will have the chance to taste and smell the aromatics and medicinal herbs growing there. Guests then go on to Lubaantun Mayan site where the crystal skull was discovered by a young Canadian girl, Anna Mitchell-Hedges, in 1924. After a guided tour of the site guests visit the Rio Blanco National Park for lunch, a swim beneath the waterfall, and trek on the jungle path which includes the suspended cable bridge over the river. A gloriously relaxing day in this remote and beautiful part of Belize.
Guests will be dropped at the Lodge by Island Expeditions on their return trip to Belize City on the final Saturday of the trip. The Lodge will arrange transport down to Punta Gorda airstrip on the morning of the guests’ departure.
The package includes two nights’ accommodation, all meals, one ful day tour, use of the lodge’s facilities including kayaks, river tubes and mountain bikes, transfer to Punta Gorda and domestic flight on Tropic Air from Punta Gorda to Phillip Goldson International airport in Belize City. |
