Guidelines for Tipping on Paradise Islands

Tipping for great service and going the extra mile is traditional in the adventure travel industry.

We feel that a tipping budget from $100 to $200 from each traveler, is a good range to consider.

On your Paradise Islands trip you will typically have 2 sets of guide teams – one for your first day inland and another guide team for the reef portion of the trip. You can tip individuals for outstanding service within your guiding team or provide a general tip for the entire guiding team, whichever you feel most comfortable with.

For the inland guiding team we suggest tipping before you board the charter boat in Dangriga as you will not see your guides again at the end of the trip.  For the reef portion of the trip you will be with your guides for the five days of the paddling the reef.  The final night’s dinner or morning of repacking in Dangriga is generally an opportune time to provide tips to your reef guiding team.
