Expeditions' Belize Adventure Tours For December
Island Expeditions of Belize has several end-of-year packages
for adventure travelers. Groups of just six to 12 people tour
with two to four group leaders (a mix of North Americans and
Belizeans). Land prices start at $1,299 including accommodations
at top-of-the-line remote island basecamps and jungle lodges,
transportation within Belize, meals and all group equipment.
A
seven-day/eight-night expedition combines adventure and relaxation.
Participants will travel over 30 miles via sea kayak along
the southern barrier reef, explore the ancient Mayan archaeology
cave of Actun Tunichil Muknal (Cave of the Stone Sepulcher),
experience world-class snorkeling and explore secluded mangrove
islands. There is also plenty of time for relaxing and experiencing
Belizean cuisine and culture. December 7, 14, 21 and 28 departures
are $1,299 per person.
Another
seven-day/eight-night journey explores Glover's Reef Atoll,
considered one of the richest tropical marine environments
in the Caribbean. Participants will spend six days on a private
island base sea kayaking, kayak sailing, snorkeling, diving,
fishing and windsurfing. Before the Glover's adventure begins,
participants will spend a full day in the rainforest exploring
rare Mayan Pottery Caves, horseback riding or hiking through
the rainforest and floating through a wildlife-rich river
area. December 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 departures are offered
at $1,499 per person.
The
nine-day/10-night Ultimate Adventure includes sea kayaking,
snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, climbing into the rainforest
canopy, exploring Mayan ruins and caves and traveling on a
tropical river through canyons and rainforest. December 6,
13, 20 and 27 departures are $1,899 per person.
An
11-day/12-night Coral Jaguar Expedition includes sailing,
paddling and snorkeling the southern Barrier Reef, camping
on tropical islets and exploration of underwater coral reefs.
The group then heads inland to follow the river through the
Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Reserve. December 16 and 24 departures
are $1,899 per person.
Three-day/two
night Maya World Extensions, departing December 21 and 28,
takes participants into the ancient Mayan cities of Lamanai
and Altun Ha, plus the remarkable Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary.
The price of this package is $429 per person.
